Sony Pictures has added to the Spider-Man universe with the newest release of Spider-Noir on Prime Video. The series has eight episodes, each around 45 minutes.
This features Nicholas Cage as a variant named Spider-Man Noir, also known as just Noir. The character originally appeared in a comic published in 2009.
WJPS eighth grader Gianna Nuñez said, “I love seeing all the different types of Spider-Man’s, they’re all so unique.”
Noir is a detective living in 1930’s New York and uses his spider abilities to defend the city from mobsters.
The show takes direct inspiration from the backdrop, giving viewers the option to watch the show in black and white, as is tradition with film noir. Viewers may also watch in color if they choose to.
WJPS 12th grader Daniela Vicente said, “I think it’s really cool that you can watch the show in color or black and white. It adds special details.”
