On June 19th the fifth Toy Story movie will be released into theaters after the first movie came out 31 years ago.
In this movie the main premise is about the effect that technology has on kids in today’s society and the effects it has on the main group of toys.
Nearly all the original cast returned for the movie such as actors like Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack, Annie Potts, Wallace Shawn, and John Ratzenberger.
There are two main cast members from the original movie who will be replaced due to their passing before the movie went into production Don Rickles and Estelle Harris who played Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head.
The movie is directed by Andrew Stanton. This will be his first time directing one of the Toy Story Movies. Though in the past he has directed other Pixar films such as Finding Nemo, WALL-E, and Finding Dory.
WJPS 12th grader Joseph Larocca stated, “I’m excited because as a kid Toy Story was one of my favorite movies and I can’t wait to see the next one.”
WJPS 12th grader Joseph Weir stated, “I personally will be watching Toy Story 5, but I do not have high hopes. After the main trilogy the movies have gotten progressively worse and I hope this one’s not the same.”
