Red, White, and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston is an excellent LGBT romance for anyone who loves cheesy rom-com books. A prince and the president’s son falling in love, what more could anyone want? 

RWARB tells the story of Alex Claremont Diaz, the first son of the United States and Henry, a British prince. Unfortunately, they tend to hate each other for unknown reasons, and Alex tries his best to push Henry’s buttons as much as possible. 

Both boys struggle with their families and who they are throughout the book, but when a wedding disaster brings the two closer, a spark erupts that won’t let either boy go. They both navigate this elite world that they were brought into together in two different countries. 

The writing style in this book is what sells the reader. Many text messages and news outlets are shown throughout the book, making many pop culture references. 

The best pop culture mentions are Taylor Swift and her notorious fourth of July parties and the tweets sent out to multiple celebrities by Alex or his sister throughout the novel.

Overall this book stole my heart (just like every other rom-com has) and deserves 5/5 stars. I have not seen a book like this in a long time, and I love how rom-coms emerge again.
