A continuation film of the British crime series Peaky Blinders has been released on Netflix after the last official episode aired in 2022. 

The series followed the Shelby family as they expanded their gang’s power in post World War One Birmingham. 

WJPS paraprofessional Ms. Pam stated, “I love history; I found the series really interesting. I definitely plan on watching the movie.” 

The plot of the film revolves around the patriarch of the Peaky Blinders family Thomas Shelby, played by Cillian Murphy, as he returns from retirement to Birmingham in the 1940s in the midst of World War Two. 

His son Duke Shelby, played by Conrad Khan, runs the gang in his absence until he gets into a war rival gang. 

The film does well to pay homage to the series that came before, featuring a returning cast of characters and locations that were significant in the series, such as the family owned pub, “The Garrison.”

There are lots of memorable scenes within the movie that overall make for an enjoyable viewing experience. 

The movie is definitely well worth a watch, especially if you are a fan of the original series.
