The 81st annual meeting of all the franchises took place at the Auditorium Theatre in Chicago, Illinois to select newly eligible players football players. This years draft had a lot of twist and turns. The Tennessee Titans and Cleveland Browns who had the first two picks traded them to the Los Angeles Rams and Philadelphia Eagles, respectively.
With the first overall pick, the Los Angeles Rams selected Jared Goff and with the second overall pick, the Philadelphia Eagles selected Carson Wentz. It’s been two years straight, where a Quarterback has been picked 1st and 2nd overall.
“The draft overall was a good draft. Almost all the teams upgraded a position,” freshman Michael Sceiczina said.
The two local teams, NY Giants and NY Jets, selected Eli Apple and Darron Lee with the 10th and 20th overall pick.
“The Giants had a good pick. They have one of the worst secondary in the leagues. It should make them younger and should match up with Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. The Jets on the other hand made the linebacker position better by selecting Darron Lee and Jordan Jenkins. They got younger and made the position more fast and athletic,” physical education teacher Mr. Maroney said.
