A new romance drama movie is now in theaters. The film is titled, “Juliet & Romeo” and is a new modern adaptation of the well known work by William Shakespeare, dating all the way back to 1594.

The main stars of the movie, Romeo and Juliet, are by Jamie Ward and Clara Rugaard respectively. Alongside them, the cast will include other faces such as Jason Isaacs, Rebel Wilson, and Rupert Everett.

WJPS 12th grader Jordan Juarez said, “I remember reading it back in ninth grade. It was pretty good so the new movie will probably also be good.”

The movie will take place in a medieval setting in the 1300s, and will include elements of a pop musical alongside the romance.

The movie is being directed by Timothy Scott Bogart, who is known for his previous work on The Jungle Book: Search for the Lost Treasure, and Spinning Gold.

WJPS 12th grader Jane Castrejon Santana stated, “I think that they have remade Romeo and Juliet so many times by now. I feel like they just lost their charm.”
