As the new football television drama “All American” was released, many people on social media were tweeting and commenting about how good the show is. It has a 97% rate of positive reviews on Netflix.
When you read the title, you might think that this show is just about football, however there is much more to it. The show essentially pokes around conversations regarding race and, occasionally, class.
The main character, Spencer, deals with racist taunts and in the third episode he and another character from the show, Jordan, face harassment from the police.
The show also presents the characters’ family secrets and the truth behind rich people’s lives.
World Journalism Preparatory School student, Chelsey Mejia, stated, “Everyone around me was talking about this show and I never really put my mind to it, but now that we’re on lock down I started watching it and I see what all the hype was about.”
“It’s really good,” stated WJPS senior, Jenny Amaya, “It’s all I watch during my free time.”
