On November 13th, WJPS held its annual Junior vs. Senior basketball game. This game is a part of the WJPS Golden Sneaker Tournament. In this game, the 11th and 12th graders each picked six students to represent their grade in a 45-minute-long basketball game.
The teams were determined during the basketball unit in gym class, where students picked teams of three and played against each other for two weeks. It ended with the two teams with the best records making up the teams for their respective grades.
This year, the game came down to the fourth and final quarter, in which the 12th graders came out on top with a score of 50-45.
WJPS 11th grader Maxwell Sanz said, βIt was a tough game; both teams played great, but the seniors really picked up towards the end of the third quarter going into the fourth quarter.β
WJPS 11th grader Brooke Hasci said, βI think the Junior vs. Senior basketball game was a pretty good game. The majority of the time, the score was really close, and both teams performed really well. It was a fun and exciting experience.β
