There should be more school trips at WJPS. Students should have more opportunities to learn and make memories.
School trips don’t only help students connect with nature, but it also helps them learn more and create more memories.
Trips to places like museums, science centers, and aquariums, all allow students to learn something new, while making it more enjoyable.
Trips provide learning that textbooks can’t offer. Additionally students can remember more because they are living the moment and not just writing down notes and memorizing a text.
Beyond academics, school trips also help bond friendships and raise the school spirit and high school experience.
However, teachers and students have had different opinions about students having more school field trips.
WJPS dean, Ms. McCloskey said, “I love school trips, I think they are very important for students and the community, and it also helps students learn more while having fun.”
WJPS 10th grader, Alex Liao, had a different opinion on this topic. He said, “If we were to have more school trips like that, it would be worse because no one would learn anything or pay attention. So it would basically be a free day out of school.”
