A new action-horror movie was released in theaters earlier this month. The title of the film is Wake Up, and was directed by François Simard and Anouk and Yoann-Karl Whissell, who are siblings.

Simard and the Whissells are also known for work on other movies such as Summer of 84, and We Are Zombies.

The plot consists of a group of teenage activists for environmental change getting trapped in a furniture store with a night guard who wants to kill them.

The movie includes film stars such as Turlough Convery, Benny O. Arthur, Jacqueline Moré, and Kyle Scudder. The movie combines the use of both thriller and slasher elements to create a horror experience. 

WJPS 12th grader Jordan Juarez stated, “It kind of reminds me of the movie Don’t Breathe, same kind of plot..”

WJPS 12th grader Victoria Sepulveda said, “The plot is definitely unique, and I think that it has potential to be good if the actors do good. I don’t really know any of them, but you never know.”
