School trips are a great way for high school students to experience learning outside the classroom, and there should be more opportunities offered to students.
Going on trips to aquariums, museums, or different colleges gets students out of the classroom and allows them to take a break from their daily routine.
In an aquarium, students can see different aquatic animals and understand marine biology. Museums show centuries of history that offer an engaging way to learn and stimulate curiosity.
Students can also benefit from visiting college campuses. Students who are still questioning what college they would like to attend or what major they want to study have a chance of asking their questions to the college administrators.
Students should start making suggestions on what trips they would like to go on and try to help plan the trips with the student government in order to have the privilege of being able to go outside the classroom.
WJPS teacher Ms. Muenkwitz said, “I agree that students should be able to have the opportunity to learn and have fun outside the classroom. A trip to the museum is a great way to engage students.”
WJPS dean Ms. McCloskey said, “I love school trips. I think it’s a great idea to have additional trips. If students have ideas, they should talk to our teachers and make it happen.”
