The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame is in Springfield, Massachusetts. It is named after Dr. James Naismith, the inventor of basketball. It was created in 1959 to pay tribute to all those who have contributed to the sport of basketball.
Each year a group of individuals are inducted into the Hall of Fame. Players and coaches like Michael Jordan and coach Pat Summitt have been inducted.
The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame continues to grow alongside new generations who are just beginning to start their journey to this Hall of Fame.
WJPS 12th grader, Olsen Ouyang said, “The NBA Hall of Fame is the most sacred place for coaches and players. Being able to enter the Hall of Fame after they retire will be a supreme honor, which is no less than winning the championship.”
WJPS 12th grader, William He said, “I am looking forward to who will be admitted into this year’s Hall of Fame. The players or coaches who enter the Hall of Fame will be remembered and respected by future generations.”
