The return of the WJPS students v.s. teachers basketball game will be held on June 14th at 3pm in the school’s gymnasium. Teachers such as Mr. Strassberg, Mr. Maroney, and Mr. Myrtil will be participating in this fundraising game.
The basketball game is a fundraiser for the school and is held every year. However, due to the pandemic, the fundraiser has been canceled for more than two years.
Now this year, the game is making a comeback.
As of right now, only seniors are allowed to play, but if the team is in need of more students then juniors can play as well. The requirements for the student to participate are good grades and good attendance.
As for the people that want to watch the game, it is recommended that you buy tickets earlier than the day of the game because it is cheaper.
“I think students vs teachers is a fun way to raise money and a good bonding experience for students and teachers,” said WJPS junior, Ameen Afroz.
“This is such an absolutely best way to raise money for the school, it gets the students involved and a fun way to raise money for the school, this helps students have a voice, their ideas and their participation in the fundraiser,” stated WJPS physical education teacher Mr. Strassberg.
