Entering November, the first thought most people have is how they are going to celebrate Thanksgiving and if they will be able to fit their plans within such a small time frame. This thought is very common, mostly among students and teachers, whose four day Thanksgiving break isn’t very long.

As a holiday so widely known, I believe it should be two to three days longer, particularly since it’s a day that many spend with their family and loved ones. This also leaves many individuals with more time to celebrate with those they love, especially just recovering from the pandemic and quarantine where millions of people could not see nor spend time with their families.

WJPS senior, Ashinda Fowler said, “I do wish Thanksgiving break was longer due to the fact that I and I am sure many others would love to spend it relaxing and celebrating with close ones.”

WJPS English teacher, Ms. Kontos said, “Thanksgiving break should be longer for students and teachers. We should have that Monday off, especially recovering from such a big celebration.”
