Broadway “The Soul of the City” Begins Its Return

“The magic that is Broadway” is truly coming back.

Recently, Broadway shows have been reopening and as of September 14, four returning shows and one show’s debut have been added to that list: “Wicked”, “Hamilton”, “The Lion King”, “Chicago”, and “Lackawanna Blues.”

In honor of this event, Spectrum News NY1  broadcasted an event on their channel called “Broadway’s Revival” hosted by Frank DiLella, the host of the theatre segment On Stage.

What transpired was an extended episode of On Stage different from any edition of the show that came before.

The topics covered on this episode, from Broadway actors and fans’ feelings about shows coming back, to how businesses in the Broadway area have suffered in this shutdown, and even the commercials for reopening shows, can give you chills, tug at your heartstrings, and everything in between.

“My friend, Mollie is knee-deep in the industry so I would hear about it all the time, but I feel bad for any businesses that suffered during the pandemic- Broadway district included.”, said WJPS physics teacher Ms. Bonanni.

“I hope that Broadway remains open. I hope to see many shows with my friends and family,” said WJPS senior Katherine Pappas.

Ultimately, this event shows how much Broadway coming back has been joyous for theatregoers and members of the shows alike.
