After 11 years of waddling, Club Penguin announced that they are shutting down. Their official official last day is March 29th, 2017.

As a result of Club Penguin’s leave, the company is launching a new product for users called, Club Penguin Island, in March. The app will be available on iOS and Android devices.

“It was part of my childhood, so I feel sad about it leaving. I used to play everyday when I was little; I even had the membership. The app they created is definitely a good idea because it is accessible. It’ll be easier for me to play on my phone instead of going on my laptop. It’s also going to bring back memories,” senior Renee Choong said.

On February 1st, Club Penguin celebrated its past 11 years with its users through an online party.

“We are deeply grateful for your time and enthusiasm since the beginning, and we’d like to thank each and every one of you in the Club Penguin community – we can’t wait for you to see what’s coming next,” the Club Penguin Team said.
