This year’s theater program presented a musical called 13 Jr, which was written by Dan Elish and Robert Horn.
Middle schoolers from both WJPS and IS 25 participated in the show. This collaboration was directed by WJPS and IS 25 staff.
The directors were Ms. Cicillini, Ms. Lamombardi, Mr. Clark, and Ms. Reyer. The music was performed by Jason Robert Brown.
WJPS teacher Ms. Cicillini said, “The play was a wonderful collaboration between the two schools. The students did a fantastic job and put in many hours of hard work over the past few months. We had a great turnout for each show.”
The show was in the auditorium, and it was free to watch. The people that attended had the chance to get a $50 gift card.
The students had two performance days. The first show was on the evening of Friday, May 15th and the second performance was a daytime matinee on Saturday, May 16th.
WJPS 11th grader Natalie Derosa said, “I had a lot of fun during 13, the musical. I got to work with really amazing kids and learned how to control the lights, and taught other people how to use the spotlights.”
