WJPS hosted its annual career day on April 27th for professionals to come in and showcase their jobs to middle school and high school students.
Several WJPS alumni came back to WJPS to show what professions they are in.
The alumni were escorted by middle school students to the classes they were going to present in.
One alumni, Marissa Desir from the class of 2021, is a project management analyst at SMBC.
She stated, “What inspired me was taking journalism classes which helped me with community management work.”
Another alumni Abisheck Keswani, class of 2016 is a senior anti-money laundering investigator.
He said, “I always loved the concept of economy and coming back here showed me how much the school has evolved.”
Additionally, he stated that “It is bittersweet to be back here, but good memories here at WJPS.”
Samantha Aversano from the class of 2015 is a therapist and social worker.
She said, “I was inspired by newspaper class which helped me interact with people every day when covering stories.”
