The New York City Public Schools Arts Office and Theater Development Fund (TDF) has provided the 2026 graduating class a free gift.

The TDF is a non-profit organization which offers Broadway, theatre, music, and dance performances to be available and affordable. They’re offering 12th graders from New York City’s public high schools from all the boroughs a free membership.

With a TDF Membership, students will have access to New York City’s performing arts with a significant discount on ticket costs and $20 Broadway tickets if they become a Grad Gift member.

Students who sign up are able to enter for a chance to get a maximum of two complimentary tickets on May 5th to see CATS: The Jellicle Ball on Broadway.

Chancellor Kamar H. Samuels, New York City Public Schools Arts Office, and TDF want all graduating students to take advantage of this offer.

WJPS 12th grader Ricardo Aviles-Valle said, “I think it’s a good opportunity for seniors to experience Broadway shows without having to worry about the cost, since some students wouldn’t normally be able to afford these shows.”

WJPS 12th grader Landon Thai, “It’s definitely worth it for students who are interested in theatre and to be able to stay connected even after high school.”
