George Tsiakas, a WJPS student who graduated last year, plays soccer at Hunter College and is majoring in economics.
He was among the dozens of alumni who came back to visit their teachers during the Thanksgiving feast this year.
Tsiakas stated, “Coming back to WJPS brings back a lot of memories with my friends here at the school.”
WJPS shares sports with Francis Lewis High School, which gave Tsiakas a chance to show his soccer talents on the field.
He stated, “I was very excited to see when I first came into high school that we had sports teams, and it really gave me the chance to show people the player I am.”
Tsiakas was a student at WJPS in both middle and high school for seven years.
He stated, ”WJPS was a very good environment to make new friends with and over the years I became so close with the people I spent every day with.”
He looks to keep going in his college soccer career and carries WJPS in his memory as he goes on in life.
