At Super Bowl XLVIII, Bruno Mars is set to steal the spotlight. The Hawaiian born, soulful musician was just announced to be performing at this season’s half time show at Metlife stadium in New Jersey.
“He’s a very talented singer. I’m excited about it,” senior Brigitte Rugel said.
His performance and its setting are the only definites, as the football season has only just begun. The forty-eighth super bowl is to take place on February 2. The 27 year old is following in the footsteps of more seasoned professional performers like Beyonce, Madonna, and Bruce Springsteen.
In a Fox Sports interview, Bruno Mars said “It’s incredible. We[‘re] celebrating for sure…It’s five months from now and I’ve got a couple of phone calls to make. It’s gonna be good.”
“I would prefer and love it if Taylor Swift performed [at the Super Bowl] because she’s gorgeous and she’s my idol. Bruno Mars is great and all but he’s so played out,” senior Caelyn Dorff said.
The last Super Bowl was the most watched televised event, according to NBC Sports. Millions will be watching Bruno Mars, the football teams who fought to fight for champion title, and the M&M commercials where the little red guy gets rejected.
