On April 27th, World Journalism Preparatory School held its fifth annual career day since COVID.
Career day is a day people from various professions brought in by staff, students or alumni come in to share their professions to the students.
This gave students the opportunities to hear about a multitude of different careers and inform them about the intricacies of their jobs.
The participants first went to the library where they were debriefed about how career day works.
Then, they were given breakfast before they went to speak to students rotating classrooms for four periods.
This school’s event featured multiple different people with different careers, four of those people being alumni from WJPS.
WJPS eighth grader Kerry Manolatos invited her father to career day. She stated, “My dad has a cool job (sales representative) and the other students will be invested in it.”
Another WJPS student, 11th grader Ruby Panepinto stated, “It gives everyone exposure to different career paths that they would’ve never known about if they never spoke to the people at career day.”
