This summer, students are given a leadership opportunity to work at World Discovery Day.
WJPS 12th grader Giselle Nunez said, “It’s a lot of work taking care of different groups of kids and working with people you’ve never met before every day through the whole summer, but the whole experience feels worth it in the end.”
The camp is located in Queens and wants to hire students 16-years-old or older, who can work as counselors, division leaders, lifeguards, and coaches. They offer a competitive salary, safe work environment, and transportation for locations throughout Brooklyn and Queens.
World Discovery Assistant Director, Terri Cook said, “At World of Discovery Day Camp you start lifelong friendships while learning responsibility and caring for others and having fun while getting real-life experience. There’s no better way to take your first steps into adulting, and it is truly the best way to have one great summer.”
Interviews are conducted at P.S. 188, located at 218-12 Hartland Avenue, on Saturdays, May 16th, May 30th, and June 6th at 9am. Applicants are asked to bring a school or photo ID and a social security card.
To get an employment certificate or working papers to apply for a job, download the application form on the WJPS website and fill it out, then print it.
Bring the signed application form, proof of age, and a doctor’s note dated within the last 12 months stating that you are physically fit to the main office. Then, the working paper certificate will be given to you.
