During Wolf Week, every grade played against each other in different sport and e-sport tournaments. This year, students that were interested in designing and painting a mural were put into groups from every grade.
WJPS 12th grader Giselle Nunez said, “Since it’s my last year at WJPS, I’m glad I got the chance to represent my grade and volunteer in the mural contest. This experience allowed my group to express our creativity and our school spirit for Wolf Week.”
The Wolf Week mural theme was movie genres. WJPS art teachers Ms. Meneses and Mx./Ms. Lang were the judges of this competition.
The grades in middle school were combined into one team, and their movie genre was science fiction. The second group was in ninth grade, with the movie genre of comedy.
Then, 10th graders made their mural based on the silent movie genre, while the 11th graders illustrated an action mural. Finally, the 12th grade group had the drama movie genre.
The murals were placed on a third-floor wall in the hallway by the bathrooms.
WJPS 12th grader Daniela Vicente said, “I like how every grade’s mural is represented in the hallway. All the students seemed to have put a lot of work into creating them.”
