The results are in. The first place winners for the schoolwide door decorating contest are Mr. Bacharach and Mr. Yarmy’s door. Ms. Marks came in second place and Ms. Foley finished in third place.
Teachers put together a group of students who decorated their classroom doors, and they all came up with a holiday theme.
WJPS teacher Ms. Marks said, “I am very competitive, and also pride myself on fostering creativity in my students as a way to argue and express themselves authentically. I have a great group of students designing my door.”
Ms. Marks additionally said, “Our group came up with a theme together, and they performed the magic. I hope this tradition continues.”
Even though the teachers weren’t allowed to help decorate, they supported their group by purchasing the supplies they needed.
WJPS 11th grade student Marina Melissinos said, “I loved helping out this year, and it was fun to decorate since it got me into the Christmas spirit. Even though we didn’t win, the experience was still worth it.”
