WJPS has welcomed Ms. Lenis as a guidance counselor this year. Each day she assists students with schedules and personal concerns.
Ms. Lenis described her daily routine as “checking emails, helping students with academics and personal matters.”’
WJPS 11th grader Mariana Martinez Morales stated, “She helped me with my schedule when I was struggling and that was very helpful and appreciated.”
Ms. Lenis encourages students to be engaged and develop strong work habits. She recommended, “Do your best and be present and develop a work ethic to be successful.”
Previously she worked at Long Island City High School before joining WJPS. She cited the school’s smaller environment and its proximity to her home as the key reasons for making the change.
Ms. Lenis has created a new system where you have to book an appointment with her on a Google form and state whether your need is academic or personal.
