Is tutoring really giving students the help they need?

High school and middle school tutoring sessions have started and all courses took place remotely at World Journalism Preparatory School.

Tutoring for high school students is programmed for A and C cohort days; which is to say on days that middle school is in the building, high school teachers will hold their tutoring sessions online. The same occurs vice versa with B and E days.

These sessions include algebra 2, physics, middle school math, middle school English, global history, and many more.

WJPS junior, Angelina Loiacono said, “I think that asking for tutoring help would help some students but others don’t learn on the Internet or remotely. So it will be hard for them to understand the topic with or without a tutor.”

Another WJPS junior, Daniela Santamaría, said that “I would give it a try, it really could go either way.”

Although not all students learn the same way, they have the opportunity of meeting with teachers other than just class time.
