Heartstopper highlights the heartfelt journey of two high schoolers discovering themselves and their relationship, overcoming the obstacles of potential judgment, and learning to come to terms with their identities.

The series focuses on the main character Charlie Spring, a nerdy high schooler who goes to an all-boys school and develops a crush on a popular jock named Nick Nelson.

The two originally start as mere classmates but begin to develop bonds over time. This leads to Nick eventually questioning his sexuality and coming to terms with who he is.

He struggles with being open about his identity due to his popularity and fear of rejection from his friends.

The show accurately depicts the struggles that many LGBTQ+ members face in today’s society. Throughout the episodes, we see students display countless forms of bullying, transphobia, and hate towards Charlie and his friends (who are also members of the LGBTQ+ community).

This show is perfect for watching with family and friends as it has a rating of TV-14.

It was admirable to see that the directos made sure to highlight the growing chemistry between Charlie and Nick. This is a show full of love and representation, portrayed with the innocence of storytelling.

The series is confirmed to have a season two, but there has yet to be an official release date.
