The WJPS school building has a lot of large classrooms, but would you believe that they’ve been even larger? Many of the classrooms used to be even larger, however are now separated by a mere thin wall.
These walls make practical use of such an impractical large space for an average classroom. You can even add more classes to the roster as there are more spaces to teach in.
Due to these thin walls you are able to hear entire lectures and videos from other classrooms. When you lean on it perhaps you even shake the whole wall.
This raises questions about how people feel about these thin classroom walls.
WJPS teacher Ms. Flannigan stated, “Sometimes when sitting in class, if the room is playing a video we hear it loud or clear and sometimes it can be distracting.”
WJPS 9th grader, Lambreeni Dzelves said, “When you sit against the wall sometimes, the wall just moves with enough force and you can even slip a paper underneath, and hear everything next door. It’s not a big problem but definitely a funny one at times.”
