Former Disney star and recent panelist on The View, Raven-Symone, made racial comments last week regarding names.

She began talking about people she would not hire based on what their parents named them. Symone said she would never hire someone named “Watermelondrea”.

“I have been denied many jobs because of my skin color, body size, and age. Each time I was rejected, my self esteem was negatively effected (sic), so i empathize with those who feel victimized by what I said,” she posted on Facebook with the hopes that everything would be resolved.

Symone’s father, Christopher B. Pearman, later posted on Facebook regarding his daughter’s comment.

“Raven is a really beautiful, sweethearted, human being. I should know. Her mother and I Love her very much and will always support her and have her back. Even if sometimes……….she says some dumb S#%T!” Pearman said.

“Raven should watch what she says because the show already has a really large audience. A lot of people watch it and it can affect them greatly,” junior Nicole Stemmler said.

Symone continues to be on The View and hope’s people will accept her apology.
