Elaine Welteroth was named the new editor-in-chief of Teen Vogue. She is twenty nine years old and the youngest editor to be named in Teen Vogue history. She was the magazine’s Beauty and Health Director since 2012.

“If she has the skills, I think it’s good that she is the new editor,” freshman Faith Ki said.

She is the second black editor in chief in the history of Condé Nast. Before she worked for Teen Vogue, she was a Beauty writer at Glamour from 2011 to 2012 and proceeded to become the Senior Beauty editor. Before working at Glamour, she was the Beauty and Style editor for Ebony from 2008 to 2011.

“I think it’s awesome that a woman was able to prosper in a rigorous field where the competition is abundant,” senior Kaila Pulley said.
