Lionsgate has announced the building of a new theme park which is to be completed by 2019.

Lionsgate hopes to build the new park which will be called Avatron Smart Park in Atlanta.

According to Lionsgate’s chief brand officer Tim Palen, “The more we thought about it, the more we realized there was a major opportunity — not just to create something smart and captivating that ‘Hunger Games’ fans would love, but to bring all of our franchises alive in new ways,” Lionsgate’s chief brand officer Tim Palen said.

Lionsgate is hoping that the theme park will make the series alive while it’s not in theaters.

“I think this theme park is very different and it is a good way to attract a lot of people and fans,” junior Erika Donis said.

There will be rides and rollercoasters based on the “Hunger Games” movies. Lionsgate also plans on opening another theme park in China. The theme park in China is planned to open in 2018.

“As a fan of both the books and movies, I am very excited to see what will become of the theme park,” senior Demetri Mihalios said.
