45 year-old Fernando Balbuena Flores recently commited suicide at the Kingsbridge Road Subway Station by jumping in front of a moving train. When he jumped onto the tracks, he took his five year-old daughter with him.

The five year-old survived due to her falling into a space between the tracks where the train could not hit her. She was taken to the hospital after the incident to take care of a few scrapes and bruises, but she is in stable condition. 

 The man jumped just before 8 a.m. According to witnesses, he was heard on the phone saying “Goodbye” and “I don’t care” in Spanish. Jairo Torres, a witness, managed to get the girl out from under the train and onto the platform before first responders got there.
