Taylor Swift Invites Fans To Her Los Angeles Apartment For 1989 Secret Sessions
Taylor Swift is coming out with a new album with her new hit "Shake it Off" and many other songs. She's going on a lot of tours and is loved everywhere around the country, and is potentially one of the most loved and relatable, performers out today. Taylor Swift invited fans over to hang out at her Los Angeles apartment for what she called, “The 1989 Secret Sessions.”
According to Shine-On Media and other fans who were asked to attend the event, Swift and her management personally selected 20-30 fans that she noticed from social media (Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr) to shuttle to her house on September 20th for a night they would never forget.
“If I was picked I would be pretty excited. I would definitely go, since I am a fan of hers,” freshman Robyn Landolfi said.
The 24-year old singer kindly treated her fans to not only listen to her upcoming album, 1989, but to also play with her cat Olivia Benson, hold a few of her awards, get a personal look at her home decor, eat cookies that Taylor baked for herself, take polaroid pictures, and much more.
Many fans blogged and tweeted about the event the night of or day later, speaking about their experience with Taylor and giving a few hints about 1989. Swift’s management considerately asked not to reveal song titles or song lyrics from the upcoming album, but they were allowed to speak about what her new music sounded like.
A journalist who attended the event tweeted about details regarding Swift’s new album.
“Not nearly as emotional as last @taylorswift13 albums, but about 50 times as emotive as almost any other album with this big-beat production,” reporter Chris Willman said.
Fans were grateful and delighted that the 7-time Grammy winner hand picked them for one of the best nights of their lives. Each fan gave a huge thank you to Swift and her management for providing them with an opportunity that they’ve dreamed of their whole lives. The 1989 Secret Sessions may have taken place in Los Angeles, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be more to come. Willman confirmed that Swift will be doing more 1989 Secret Sessions, meaning she will be stopping here in her New York apartment to hold another listening session.
Fans that haven’t met Swift also think highly over the fact that she shows compassion for her fans by inviting them into her home.
“By inviting fans into her home, it shows that she cares about them and has an amazing ability to connect with them compared to other artists who don’t take that into account,” junior Min-Hye Kang said.
1989 is Swift’s fifth studio album, which will be released on October 27, 2014.
