Living in New York, there are two basketball teams in the NBA: The New York Knicks and The Brooklyn Nets. Students throughout World Journalism Preparatory School had different answers on which team they prefer and why.

“I personally am a New York Knicks fan. I like the atmosphere in Madison Square Garden whenever the Knicks play. I think it’s way more exciting to watch their point guard (Tim Hardaway Jr.) feed the ball to Porzingis,” said Rocco Rolleri, WJPS junior.

“I am a Nets fan. I like the Nets better because I feel like they have way better chemistry than the Knicks have. It makes them way more exciting to watch. Plus, they have D’Angelo Russell and Jeremy Lin, both young talented players. Also, the tickets are way cheaper,” said WJPS junior, Charlie LoMonaco.

Currently, in the league the New York Knicks are 8-21, meanwhile the Brooklyn Nets are 11-18. The way the Eastern Conference is looking at the moment, the Nets might have a slim chance of making the playoffs if they stay consistent.

At the moment the Nets are in 10th place, right behind the Orlando Magic. As far as the Knicks, they are even further behind in 12th place.
