MTA New Customer Service Center

MTA+New+Customer+Service+Center

The MTA had announced the opening of new customer service centers at Coney Island on Stillwell Avenue, 161st street at Yankee Stadium, and Atlantic Avenue at The Barclays Center. Three of these types of centers will be open in Queens before the end of the year.

According to New York City Transit, the customer service agents will provide information to customers about OMNY technology, updates and delays, along with processing applications for fare reductions. The customer service centers will be staffed 24 hours a day, every day of the week.

This year, New York City Transit intends to open 12 additional centers throughout the city. The design of the center includes canopies, new lighting, and branded wrapping.

NYC Transit President Richard Davey stated, “Modern, welcoming, and accessible customer service centers will bring real benefits to riders, especially as we continue to transition to OMNY.”

“I believe that upgrading the customer service is a good move, because it gives the center a cleaner, more pleasant appearance. With those decorations, it will make the station brighter,” said Giselle Nunez, a WJPS freshman.

“I think that renewing the center does give it a brighter and nicer look, but other than that, I think it’s mostly the same as before,” stated WJPS freshman, Scott Turner.
