Goodbye, Ms. Poulos

After 16 years of being assistant principal at WJPS, Ms. Poulos will be retiring at the end of this school year. She first began working at WJPS when the school opened.

She stated, “We started with 11 staff members and now we have over 70. We started with two grades; seventh grade and ninth grade, and now we have seven grades. We started off 180 students and now we have almost 650. We started out with just an idea and now we are a highly recognized and established school.”

Throughout the years, Ms. Poulos has put effort into making students feel safe and welcome in the building as well as creating a friendly and safe environment and making connections with WJPS students and staff.

Anthony Cina, a WJPS junior said, “As a student attending WJPS since the sixth grade, I don’t think I’m going to see this school the same without her.”

Besides school work and keeping students safe, Ms. Poulos said her favorite thing about working at WJPS is “When people and students come to me in distress who need help, it warms my heart when I can do so.”
