Computer Concerns

Computer+Concerns

For many years, World Journalism Preparatory School has been giving out laptop carts to classrooms.

Each laptop is assigned a certain slot for teachers and administrators to keep track of who is using the laptop and when he/she is using it.

Even with this system however, there are still issues that occur, like the carts being disorganized or laptops being placed in the wrong slot. Along with this, the laptops are often not plugged in, preventing them from charging and the next class from being able to use them.

When asked how he feels about these issues Mr. Myrtil, school technology specialist, said “Well, it’s very annoying for the next teacher that is going to use the laptop cart. I see the carts at least once a day when I do my part, but there’s no way I can see every cart in one period to deal with this issue.”

When asked about how he will start advising kids to put their laptops in the right spot, he continued, “It starts with a system. Once we establish a system, it’s very easy to follow. I know it’s not every kid mixing up. It’s only certain classes this happens in.”
