On a night where the British royal couple Prince William and Kate had courtside seats to view this Easter Conference showdown, “King James” showed the affluent couple that he’s royalty in his own right.

Cleveland Cavaliers, with this victory, now have seven consecutive wins all thanks to Small Forward LeBron James scoring 18 points. The royal couple took their seats in the third quarter, it was then that the Cavaliers took complete control against the Brooklyn Nets on December 8th.

“Yeah, they brought luck to us,” James said.

Power Forward Kevin Love also had a great game, scoring 19 points and 14 boards. Shooting Guard Dion Waiters scored a game-high 26 points coming off the bench.

On Monday (12/8/14), Nets star Small Forward Joe Johnson wasn’t able to play due to flu-like symptoms. To make matters worse, Center Brook Lopez was out with a back strain.

Both players missed the last few practices. These losses were too significant which contributed to the downfall of the Nets. These major losses were too significant for Brooklyn to withstand. This is why they suffered this devastating loss.

Holding down the fort for Brooklyn was Point Guard Deron Williams. He obtained a “double-double” with 13 points and 11 assists. Williams looked good in the game, but it wasn’t enough to combat the relentless offense of Cleveland.

Brooklyn has not been doing well as of late, with this loss they now drop to a 8 and 11 record. They’re currently the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference.

“The Nets franchise spent a lot of money for their players over the past few years and it sucks that they’re not having the best start. I feel that they take one step forward and two steps backwards at times,” senior Jonathan Veras said.

Their next game is against the visiting Chicago Bulls on Wednesday (12/10/14). Cleveland will host the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday (12/9/14), a team that has defeated them on two separate occasions.
