New York Knicks suffered a major loss against the Chicago Bulls. This was the Knicks first game of the season and also their first home court appearance in Madison Square Garden. The final score was a disappointing 104 to 80 point deficit.

On October 30th the Knicks went up against the famous Cleveland Cavaliers, the dream team. Equipped with Small Forward Lebron James, Point Guard Kyrie Irving and Power Forward Kevin Love the Knicks chance of coming off with the win against the Cavaliers was infinitesimal. From the looks of it, it was believed to be another humiliating loss for the Knicks but they never fail to surprise.

Knicks were able to redeem themselves after that heartbreaking loss. They managed to pull off with the win by just a slim 5 points, a 95-90 victory. It seems that while James was having an off night, his first in a while, the Knicks were hitting on all cylinders. James’s average points per game scored is actually 27 points, however he only scored 17 points this game. The triangle offense was also in full swing allowing greater distribution of the ball.

“Lebron James was doing pretty awful last night, [which was] good for the Knicks but bad for him,” sophomore Mohammed Shah said.

Knicks Small Forward Carmelo Anthony was on fire, he racked up 25 points and managed to get himself on to the highlight reel with a the baseline jump shot right in front of James’s face. He was especially heating up in the third quarter when he hit down a few three pointers and knocked off a couple assists.

Shooting Guard Iman Shumpert, Center Jason Smith, and Point Guard Shane Larkin were also putting in work. Shumpert and Smith contributed 12 points. Larkin finished the game with 9 points. They also finished with several rebounds for the Knicks.

With this win against the Cleveland Cavaliers, it shows the potential the New York Knicks have. Cleveland, who was said to be one of the most powerful teams, was defeated by the Knicks.

This does not have to be just one good night, it can be a constant performance the Knicks put on, a level that they play on every night. If they continue to put on a show like how they did against the Cavs, the Knicks will be unstoppable and with luck, can make it very far in the playoffs.
