Minnesota isn’t the best team in the Western Conference but they certainly aren’t the worst. On August 2014, The Timberwolves acquired young new talent that can lead the team in the later future. They may have a chance in a couple of years to make it to the playoffs, but currently, they still need to rebuild.

This team has a lot young talent, something that most NBA teams struggle with having. Zach Lavine the 19 year old point guard with extreme athleticism is capable of playing starting point/shooting guard. He needs to work on his shooting this season so that it is higher than 44 percent (this is what he averaged in college).

“The Timberwolves aren’t a bad team, although they lost Kevin Love, they are still close contenders for the playoffs,”  senior Anthony Panio said.

Andrew Wiggins, small forward, was the number one pick in the 2014 NBA draft. He is going to be a great asset to the team and is definitely rookie of the year worthy and able to achieve MVP in the later future.

“Andrew Wiggins is going to be the rookie of the year no doubt. He is a great asset to the team,” middle schooler Thomas Pecunia said.

Anthony Bennett, the backup power forward will also be starting power forward in the near future. His shooting so far in the preseason is excellent compared to last year, he seems to be building up his athletic stamina.

With Bennett, Wiggins, and Lavine, the Timberwolves are just going to miss the playoffs. They need a little more time to build up their team to their best potential.

Even with the loss of star power forward Kevin Love (who is currently on the Cleveland Cavaliers), the Timberwolves will still have a long time to rebuild but with the help of those three players they definitely have a step in the right direction.

“I like Andrew Wiggins, he is going to be rookie of the year and this team is going to shine this year,” senior Gunhee Cho said.
