As we get deeper into the winter, coats and jackets are needed to keep us warm. Moncler and Canada Goose are two popular brands for coats and jackets.

Canada Goose was founded in 1957 by Sam Tick in Canada. Mainly, the coats were custom filled coats and heavy duty parkas for Canadian Rangers.

Moncler, an Italian apparel manufacturer founded in 1952 by Rene, known for down jackets and sportswear and name originating from the city of Monestier-de-Clermont in France.

Moncler is more of a designer brand and have a “higher” quality, along with much higher prices. The design and fabric is what makes it so premier and exclusive in today’s society. Canada Goose is considerably cheaper and has thicker fabric for colder and harsher conditions.

Charlie LoMonaco, World Journalism Preparatory School junior and owner of both of jackets said “Typically, Canada Goose is more of a real winter coat and Moncler is more for fashion statement.”
