Everybody is playing, or knows someone who’s playing, in this year’s Powerball. The Powerball jackpot started at $40 million on November 7th but increased to $1.5 billion. The three lucky tickets were sold on January 13th in California, Florida and Tennessee. The money was split between the three winners.

“I’m really sad that I didn’t win I had a lot of expectations and I put a lot of pride in my numbers. I actually thought about my numbers for about three days. I was nervous and excited but I’m actually going through something really deep that makes me not wanna play anymore until tomorrow,” Superintendent of buildings John Skerrett said.

Each winner will receive an $1,586,400,000.00 annuity split and a $983,505,233.36 cash split.

There are 292 million winning combinations which gives the player a one out of 292 million chance of winning this jackpot. These three men beat the odds against them and in turn played the winning numbers 4, 8, 19, 27, 34 and 10.

“If I would’ve won the Powerball the first thing I would do is help my parents my siblings and my immediate family better themselves. Then I will help my friends and neighbors. After that I would take some money to put it towards investment and buy a couple of buildings, fix and furnish them, to rent them out. I also always wanted to open up a school in Dominican Republic for underprivileged children and that school will have everything it needs to become one of the top private schools,” Pharmacist Technician Yolanda Moreno said.

Next drawing is on Wednesday January 20 with a jackpot of $50 million. Each game cost $2. Information on how to play can be found on the New York lottery website.
