Recently, Nicki Minaj went on Twitter announcing that she was planning to retire and have her family with her boyfriend, Kenneth Petty. 

Minaj, 36 went to Twitter with a tweet saying “I’ve decided to retire & have my family. I know you guys are happy now. To my fans, keep reppin me, do it til da death of me, in the box- cause ain’t nobody checkin me. Love you for LIFE.” 

However, some fans didn’t take the surprise very well. One Twitter user commented, “You can have them both, so please don’t leave us.” 

The retirement news in Minaj’s since-then deleted tweet was met with disbelief and despair for the rapper’s fans, who call themselves the “Barbz.”

The female rapper responded to a tweet from a fan saying, “Can you please just address this retirement thing. You never left us so hurt your entire career. We’re just hurting Nicki 🙁 its US its the barbz please…”  Minaj responded with “I’m still right here. Still madly in love with you guys & you know that. In hindsight, This should’ve been a Queen Radio discussion & it will be. I promise you guys will be happy. No guests, just us talking about everything. The tweet was abruptive & insensitive, I apologize babe.”
