Spring Flings are commonly school dances, however the PTA revamped it into a nighttime of fun. On May 15, the PTA hosted the Spring Fling at 6 p.m. in the school yard for the enjoyment of students and other visitors.

There was a bouncy house, a dunk tank, face painting, henna tattooing, and food/drinks that all combined together to create a safe and fun time to hang out with friends.

Tickets were sold for two for $5 or 10 for $20 and could be used to go into the bouncy house for five minutes, one throw in the dunk tank, and for the raffles that included several Broadway tickets and gift cards.

For free, students could get face painting or get henna done on their hands by an expert.

“I had a lot of fun. I really liked getting the henna done on my hand it was really pretty,” 7th grader Maria Giannakopoulos said.

A treat for students came up when Mr. Nisonoff and Mrs. Schneider sat on the hot seat to be dunked at the tank. Some students were extremely enthusiastic and dunked these adults more than once. Mr. Nisonoff and Mrs. Schneider became soaked to the bone to help raise money for the school.

“The dunk tank was the funniest thing. I liked how the teacher and the principal showed their support and voluntarily went into the dunk tank to get soaked. It was a very fun night and I enjoyed the Spring Fling,” guest Kevin Shea said.

Besides the scheduled amusements, there were also sports played by students. There were basketball games, frisbee, and soccer games.

There was also a DJ playing music the entire night. The DJ played popular songs as well as the classics such as the cotton eye joe, cupid shuffle, and the chacha slide. A nice crowd of students danced the entire night away.
