Forget the ALS Ice bucket challenge, now the new social media trend is the “Kylie Jenner Challenge”.

This challenge has girls all over thirsting for the same lip shape Kylie has, by artificially plumping their lips to make themselves look more like the reality star Kylie Jenner.

“I think the Kylie Jenner Challenge is stupid because I don’t think it’s fair for anyone to make fun of someone else’s flaws. Also it’s really fake and it isn’t good for your skin either,” junior Jenna Kahn said.

To get the full, pouty shaped lips, girls suck their lips in a shot glass, or plastic cup for a few minutes, which causes the blood to fill their lips.

The results are short term, usually 5-10 minutes tops, but can also have horrible long term consequences. The consequences can include swelling and can also lead to scarring, bruising and even lip indentations.
“I did the challenge and I regretted it soon after because it caused a majority of the blood vessels under my lip to pop, which made me very swollen and sore. I wouldn’t recommend doing this for anyone,” junior Kaitlyn Pedota said.
