The Brooklyn Nets were originally the New Jersey Nets. After joining the NBA in 1976, the team did not win a championship. In the 2012-13 season, the Nets officially moved from New Jersey to Brooklyn, New York City.

The Brooklyn Nets’ team logo has “NETS” in black and white and a large “B” in the middle to symbolize Brooklyn, New York, where the Nets are located.

American animation company, Marvel, collaborated with the Brooklyn Nets to create the team’s mascot: the Brooklyn Knight. It made the Nets the first team in NBA history to use a superhero as their mascot.

WJPS 12th grader, Johan Lee said, “As one of the two teams in the New York NBA, I will definitely support the Brooklyn Nets. I heard that their venue is very big. If I have the chance, I will definitely go to watch it.”

WJPS 11th grader, Hui Zhang stated, “Although the current record of the Brooklyn Nets is unsatisfactory, I believe that after adjustments, the Brooklyn Nets will be able to return to being a strong NBA team.”
