WJPS widely enjoyed career day made a gracious comeback this year, bringing together the entire community. Students were greeted throughout the day by both WJPS alumni and other various individuals who are part of the workforce.

Executive editor of ABC News, Wil Cruz, attended the event held on February 8th. He spent the morning visiting various classrooms and educating students on his responsibilities, as well as sharing past experiences as an editor for the television network.

Cruz stated, “I think it’s great, I love career days in general, but also I know that as a journalism school it’s important for someone like me who’s in the field to share my experience. As your principal previously said, a phrase or connecting with a person can lead you on a journey.”

Cruz added, “I love doing career days and I know how important they are for me and how important they are for students now.”

Numerous other guests also expressed the same merriment for the event, sharing that being able to educate and share their career paths as well as their journeys taken, was an incredibly positive experience. The event was long-awaited, and many students, teachers, and guests hope for many more to come.
