Number One: Victor Wembanyama

Victor Wembanyama is a French basketball player, born on January 4, 2004, in Pontoise, France. He’s known for his exceptional height, skill set, and versatility on the court. 

Wembanyama is over seven feet tall and is averaging more than 19 points per game after more than 30 games with the San Antonio Spurs in his first year in the NBA.

In 2019, Victor Wembanyama started his career with Nanterre Basketball Club in French Ligue 1. In June 2023, Wenbanyama was selected by the San Antonio Spurs as the number one pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.

WJPS 12th grader Johan Lee stated, “The first time I noticed Wembanyamawa’s in the 2023 NBA draft. A player over seven feet tall was selected by the Spurs with the number one pick. I think he will become an NBA superstar in the future.”

WJPS 12th grader William He said, “If Wembanyama continues to grow, he will definitely become a superstar. His talent is hard to come by. He will definitely win the championship in the future.”
