Return of Field Day

The last field day WJPS held was in 2019. Since Covid-19 the WJPS tradition of field day had been canceled, but four years later we are seeing its return.

Field day usually takes place in mid October as a day for all grades to take a day off from school work and go do some activities outside. There are many activities to participate in including football, soccer, volleyball and even just sitting down enjoying a picnic.

Taking place in Crocheron Park, October 20th was supposed to be the set date. Due to weather conditions this date has been pushed back a week for Friday, October 27th.

WJPS teacher, Mr. Gardner stated, “I feel pretty indifferent, before it was on PSAT day so we had to take the kids out of the building. I love math so I’m all about that math. I like playing football with the students. It’s fun but I also like not getting hurt, so I might just spectate this year.”

WJPS senior, Manal Assi said, “ I like to sit with my friends and participate in the activities and sports.”
